Cleavers: Lymph Cleansing and Flow

CLEAVERS - Galium Aparine

I’m an herbalist, lymph lover, and craniosacral therapist - so when i heard that Cleavers is lymph medicine, my excitement was over the top and it stuck.

Haha. Unintentional pun there…

“HOW did you know it was Cleavers?”

“It stuck!”

…onto my clothes and everything close enough to touch. Cleavers loves to reach out and make friends.
And Cleavers grows prolifically for me…

As medicine, Cleavers is a supreme filter of our fluid pathways,  namely the lymphatic vessels and urinary tract. The stalks stand tall, and the sticky leaves act like scrub brushes that draw and push poisons out.

Cleavers assists lymph drainage, natural detoxification, and intercommunication and flow between organ systems…in this way, Cleavers jump-starts self-healing and overall health.

i’ve nurtured the Spring weeds that i noticed since moving to this cottage two years ago. Cleavers erupts suddenly and unexpectedly for me into a mini-forest each Spring… for a few short precious weeks - right now!

So i harvest gratefully, and dry bunch after bunch for tincture, herbal oil, and tea.

Truth be told, it’s the relationship we have with any plant that makes it good medicine, and determines whether or not it’s an herbal ally for us. Any plant that grows easily for us or shows up everywhere we go is most certainly calling out.
